Herbal Remedies for Constipation Relief

Constipation is one of the most common digestive problems. It refers to the bowel movement that is irregular and hard to pass. Constipation can make you feel bloated, tired, unhealthy and uncomfortable.

  • Eat food high in fiber such whole grains, Wheat bran, brown rice, or whole-grain bread.
  • Fruits such as papaya and guava taken regularly are beneficial as they provide roughage and clear the bowel system. Avoid banana and jackfruit.
  • Dry grapes have laxative properties. Soak dry grapes in water overnight and take it empty stomach in the morning.
  • Bael fruit has laxative properties. Extract juice from bael fruit by adding water and sugar. Drink this regularly for 3 months. This will clear the stomach and flush the waste out of the body.
  • Spinach is very effective in constipation.
  • Castor oil is a laxative it acts quickly in constipation. Castor oil inhibits fluid absorption by the intestines and stimulates peristalsis. Do not use long-term.
  • Take 1 tbsp of flax seed powder every night with warm milk.

Triphala is an ayurvedic medicine composed of three fruits, namely Harada, Amla, and Behada. It gently stimulates the intestinal walls and provides the cleansing effect. It helps to correct constipation, cleanses and tonify the gastrointestinal tract.
