How to remove dark circles under the eyes?Dark circles under the eyes tend to age us. These make us appear exhausted and ill. The main causes of dark circle are allergies, dehydration, inadequate sleep, and even heredity. Dark rings can be a sign of iron deficiency anemia.

  • The best way to prevent dark circles is to eat, drink, sleep well and reduce stress and fatigue.
  • Apply thin slices of cucumber on top of the eyes for 15-20 minutes every day. This relieves the eyes from stress. It cools and soothes the eyes.
  • Tea bags are an effective way of curing dark circles. Apply cold tea bags on the top of the eyes for 15-20 minutes every day. Caffeine in tea diminishes puffiness. Chamomile tea is an anti-inflammatory and more beneficial.
  • Dip cotton balls in Rosewater or Gulab Jal and keep under the eyes for 10 minutes. It soothes the eyes.
  • Make the paste of nutmeg (Jaiphala) and milk. Apply it on the eyelids. It gives the cooling effect to eyes.
  • Massaging eyes with almond oil at bedtime daily for two weeks is a good remedy for dark circles.
  • Grate raw potatoes and wrap them in cheesecloth. Apply this on the eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Potatoes contain an enzyme called catecholase which lightens dark circles under your eyes.
  • Eyebright is a popular herb medicine for treating dark under-eye circles. It is a flowering herb commonly known as euphrasia and augentrostkraut. It treats may eye problems such as redness of the eye, eye fatigue, conjunctivitis, puffiness of eyes and dark circles.
