Superman is a fictional character and superhero. He is the character of the oppressed who had sworn to devote his existence to helping those in need.
The character was created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, who first appeared in comic books in 1938, and eventually became the most popular comic book hero of all time. Initially, a bald telepathic villain was created by Jerry Siegal and Joe Shuster in 1933 in the story “The Reigh Of The Superman”. But this fiction bombed. So, they recreated the character again as a superhero and named him Superman.
Superman was born on the planet Krypton and was sent to Earth moments before the planet exploded. While Superman was still an infant, his native planet exploded into fragments as the result of a cataclysmic chain reaction originating at the planet’s core, but not before his parents had placed him in an experimental rocket ship and launched him toward the safety of the planet Earth.
He came from a planet whose inhabitant’s physical structure was millions of years advanced than our own. On growing up, these people were gifted with Titanic strength. Superman was raised with a solidly Protestant upbringing by his Midwestern adoptive parents – Jonathan and Martha Kent. He was named Clark Kent by them. On reaching maturity, he developed superhuman abilities, resolving to use those for the benefits of humanity.
Clark Kent is over 30 years of age, with black hair and blue eyes. He is 6’2″ tall, with a chest measurement of 44″ and a waist measurement of 34″. Clark Kent has a largely passive and introverted personality with conservative mannerism and a high pitched voice. He lives among humans as ‘mild-mannered reporter’ for the newspaper “The Daily Planet”.He works with reporter Lois Lane, with whom he is romantically linked. Lane loves Superman but always rejects Kent’s affection and love. As a reporter, Kent learned quickly of ongoing events where he could be of help. Whenever he feels that he is needed somewhere by someone, he transforms himself into Superman and heads towards his destination. Kent wears his Superman costume underneath his clothes, which makes it easy to transfer between the two personalities.
Superman is a man of high ideals, and much of his behavior is motivated by an abiding sense of honor and principle. Among his deeply held convictions is the sacredness of human life, which forbids him from ever taking a human life, even that of the vilest villain. Superman always keeps his word and it’s against his code to resist the law. Superman’s most deeply held convictions is that he must never use his super-powers for profit or personal aggrandizement. He has always rejected remuneration for his super-heroic deeds, although he has, on occasion, performed services for others in return for the promise of contributions to charity.
Superman’s cellular structure is more dense, resilient and biologically more effective than human tissue. Without constant exposure to solar energy, his strength seems on par for a human of his height and weight who engages in regular physical activities. He can defy gravity, move at great superhuman speed, has superhuman reaction time and reflexes, possesses vast super strength, is nearly invulnerable, possesses numerous superhuman senses, and also has powerful energy projection capabilities. His powers include:
- Power to fly.
- Stamina.
- Super hearing.
- Super voice.
- Super vision.
- Solar energy absorption
- Healing factor.
- Super intelligence.
- Strength.
- Pre-crisis alert.
