About Spider Man

Spider-Man is a fictional superhero of Marvel Comics. Spiderman was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko for Marvel Comics in 1962. Stan Lee was the youngest editor in the comic book industry. By 1977, Spider-Man became the star and the comic appeared in more than 500 newspapers worldwide. The character first appeared in Amazing Fantasy # 15 which was later renamed Amazing Spider-Man. The first animated Spider-Man television series commenced in 1967.

Stan Lee conceived the character of Spider-Man as an orphan boy Peter Parker. His parents, Richard and Mary Parker died in a plane crash when he was just six years of age. He was raised by his Uncle Ben Parker and Aunt May Parker who lived in Forest Hills, New York. Peter was a science whiz and a bright student at Midtown High School. One evening when Peter attended a science exhibition demonstrating radiation technology, a radioactive spider sneaked into beam radiation. It dropped on Peter and nipped his hand. This gave him immense strength, reflexes, stamina, and quickness. He developed the ability to cling to the ceilings and walls, shoot spider-webs through wrist-mounted barrels. Mary Jane Watson is the love in his life whom he marries.

In normal life, Parkers works as a photographer for the Daily Bugle. The publisher of the newspaper, J. Jonah Jameson is Spider-Man’s biggest critics.

The most classic costume of Spider-Man is the Red and Blue costume with a spider on the front and back with webbing all around the red part. Spider-Man’s first superhero confrontation was with ‘Chameleon’ and the second one with ‘The Vulture’. The other enemies included Green Goblin, Venom and Doctor Octopus.
