About Gel Toothpaste

The gel contains a surfactant to enhance cleaning. On brushing the gel comes in contact with water and air and forms a thick foam which contains microbubbles. These bubbles have a hollow bit in the middle and a thin layer of liquid on the outside. This layer of liquid is not completely transparent but stops some of the light coming through.

The foam thus acts as a mirror and appears to be white because they are just reflecting the light.

About Spiders

Why don’t Spiders get stuck in their own web?

Spiders have three specially adapted non-stick claws on each leg that allows them to scamper across their webs with relative ease. They also tend to lay a dragline for safety.

Should they fall into the web, they can become trapped, in which case their only escape is to eat their way out, aided by special saliva enzymes that dissolve the silk.

About Eggs

Can’t remember if an egg is fresh or hard-boiled? Just spin the egg. If it wobbles, it must be raw. If it spins easily, it is hard-boiled. A fresh egg will always sink in water, a stale will float.
