Spicy Mustard Fish Curry Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1kg of fish (any firm, white-fleshed fish like cod or halibut)
  • 1/2 cup of mustard oil
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tsp of cumin powder
  • 2 tsp of coriander powder
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup of water
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Clean the fish and cut it into pieces. Pat dry with a paper towel and set aside.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat until it starts to smoke.
  3. Add sliced onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Fry for a minute until the raw smell goes away.
