Poha

Ingredients:

2 cups Poha or Flattened Rice
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
7-8 Curry Leaves
3-4 Whole Red Chilies
1 large Onion chopped
1 large potato boiled, peeled and chopped finely
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Chili Powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp Lemon Juice
2 tbsp Oil
Fresh Coriander for Garnishing

Directions:

  1. Take poha in the sieve and hold it under the water for a few seconds until its wet. Keep aside to drain.
  2. Add oil in the pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves and whole red chilies in it. When the spluttering stops add onions to it. Saute till its soft and translucent.
  3. Add chopped potato and stir for some time. Now add salt, turmeric powder and chili powder to it. Mix well.
  4. Add poha to the above mixture. Cook for another minute mixing continuously so that the poha blends well with onion and potato mixture.
  5. Add lemon juice over the poha and mix well. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  6. Serve hot with green chutney.
